The Future We Want

The Future We Want, Begins with ME!

EXPLORE personal change.
ENGAGE with others.
CREATE answers the world needs.
GIVE hope to humanity.

The Future We Want (TFWW) is an invitation to everyone 21 years and over and interested in being part of a diverse fellowship of changemakers. Through reflective deep inner listening, sharing and creative expression, this 4-day programme will be a journey of self-connection, personal change and collective and individual action in our personal lives, families, work and society at large.

About IofC India:

Initiatives of Change (IofC) is a worldwide movement of people of diverse cultures and backgrounds committed to transforming society through changes in human motives and behaviour, starting with their own. Our mission is to inspire, equip and connect people to address world needs, starting with themselves. We work worldwide on many initiatives through a network of individuals, groups and organisations.

Programme Overview:

This 4-day programme is designed to take you on a journey of looking at our connection with ouselves, others and the larger context of our society and world that we are part of. We believe that creating the kind of world or kind of future we would like to see and be part of, begins with looking at ourselves as change makers and creators of this world and future. Through times of inner listening, sharing, community, connection, service, fun and play we will find our unique role to play in the 'Future We Want'.

From the time you arrive at the campus, you will experience being part of a community that thinks, works and shares together to explore a deeper purpose in life. Through morning quiet times, time in nature, community groups, activities and processes, personal story sharing and community service, you can make a new connection with yourself and other participants.

We will also have opportunity to walk to the famous tableland and Sydney point which Panchgani is famous for.

About Panchgani & Asia Plateau:

Panchgani is located at an altitude of 1293 meters above sea level. This popular hill station is at a distance of 100 KMS from Pune and 280 KMS from Mumbai. You can reach Panchgani from either of these locations via public buses, private cars or cabs.

The programme will take place at the Asia Plateau campus, just at the start of Panchgani town. This 68-acre campus is well-equipped with residential buildings, conference rooms, trees, gardens, forests and hills. The entire campus is strictly a no-smoking and no-alcohol zone. Violation of this guideline is taken very seriously.

The weather is pleasant all year round, and light woollen clothes are recommended. We suggest you bring your walking shoes as well as rain gear along.

So come join us in this adventure and be part of a community of change makers committed to a purpose greater than just ourselves.

Testimonial

The first interaction for me with the program was the flyer. The organization believes in personal change, which was my response and so it should be interesting. I signed up immediately without further inquiry. I did have some assumptions though that professionals from different fields were coming so it would be an intense discourse. Anyways I still made the journey from Ranchi to Panchgani just to accept whatever the fellowship had to offer. The first glance at the Asia Plateau left me astonished. The view itself made me believe that this is going to be an unexpectedly beautiful experience. All the worldly chaos stagnated and submerged in my head, nowhere to be found. Every face that you encounter at the centre is welcoming. We got a little time to mingle before the program officially began.

Apart from the program schedule was a roster duty chart that believed in the concept of ‘SHRAMDAAN’. Every session was designed in such a way that we get to be in groups and with ourselves equally. The centre had such a culturally rich history that we were in awe and mindful of using the resources carefully. Right from the first tree standing upright in its magnificence to teakwood furniture from the beginning of the centre, dedicated halls to different geographic regions for their contributions, tell a story in their ways about the centre and the people who associate themselves with the mission of IofC. We also got acquainted with the picturesque landscape of Panchgani. The focus on introspection and sharing is the core value that they abide by. As change makers, one should go through such a workshop to be able to contribute better. I guess I formed some relations for life. That is their beauty!
